Jobs

A job in Elly represents a role you're hiring for. Everything else — pipelines, candidates, interviews, campaigns — hangs off a job.

Creating a job#

From the main navigation, click Jobs, then New job (or the equivalent button on the Jobs list).

You only need a few fields to get started:

  • Title — What the role is called internally and externally.
  • Description — The job description candidates will see. Supports rich formatting.
  • StatusDraft (not yet accepting candidates), Active (open for applications and outreach), or Closed (no longer taking new candidates).

You can fill in everything else — hiring manager, owner, scorecard defaults — later.

The Jobs list#

The Jobs page shows every job in your workspace. Use the filters at the top to narrow by status or search by title. Each row shows the candidate count in the pipeline so you can quickly see where activity is concentrated.

Editing a job#

Click any job to open its detail page, then Edit. You can change the title, description, and status at any time. Closed jobs can be reopened by switching the status back to Active.

Plan limits on active jobs#

The number of jobs you can have in Active status at once depends on your plan:

Plan Active jobs
Free 2
Starter 5
Growth Unlimited
Enterprise Unlimited

Draft and Closed jobs do not count toward the limit. If you hit the cap, either close a job or upgrade your plan — see Billing and Plans.

Imported vs. manually created jobs#

Jobs created in Elly and jobs imported from an ATS (like Greenhouse or Lever) behave the same way day-to-day, with a few differences:

  • Imported jobs sync their title, description, and status from the source ATS. Edits made in the source system flow back to Elly.
  • Editing an imported job's description in Elly may be overwritten on the next sync, depending on the integration.
  • Closing a job in your ATS will typically close it in Elly as well.

See ATS Integrations for how syncing works.

Job-level settings#

On each job's detail page you can configure:

  • Owner — The recruiter primarily responsible.
  • Hiring manager — The person making the hiring decision.
  • Default scorecard template — Applied to new pipeline stages and AI interviews for this job.

These can be changed at any time without affecting past candidates.
