Glossary
Common terms used throughout Elly and this documentation.
Application Review#
A pipeline stage type that uses AI to read a candidate's resume against the job description and produce a summary and fit signal.
Campaign#
A multi-step email sequence sent automatically to a list of candidates. See Campaigns.
Candidate#
A person being considered for a role. Candidates live in your workspace and can belong to one or more jobs' pipelines.
Credit#
The unit Elly uses for usage-based billing. Each workspace has a monthly credit allowance; certain actions (AI interview, enrichment, sourcer preview, phone / video call, ATS connection) consume credits. See Billing and Plans.
Cycle credits#
The monthly credit allocation attached to your plan. Resets at the start of each billing cycle.
Enrichment#
The process of pulling verified contact details (email, phone) for a candidate from a third-party data provider. Costs 5 credits per candidate.
Enrollment#
Adding a candidate to a campaign. Each enrolled candidate follows the sequence they were enrolled under, even if the sequence is later edited.
Group#
Elly's term for a workspace. Every user belongs to exactly one group; everything in Elly (jobs, candidates, meetings, integrations, billing) is scoped to a group.
Hiring Manager Interview#
The default pipeline stage where candidates are handed off to the hiring manager for a live interview.
Job#
A role you're hiring for. Every pipeline, candidate, and campaign is associated with a job.
Lead#
A candidate in the earliest pipeline stage, before they've been qualified. Also the default first stage's name.
Meeting#
A recorded conversation — phone, video, AI interview, or uploaded file — along with its transcript and AI-generated summary. See Notetaker.
Notetaker#
Elly's recording, transcription, and summarization subsystem. Captures conversations from Recall (video), Twilio (phone), Vapi (AI interviews), and manual uploads.
Owner#
A workspace role with full control over billing, team, and all settings. Every workspace has at least one owner.
Pipeline#
The ordered sequence of stages through which a job's candidates progress. Each job has its own pipeline; workspaces can customize the default. See Pipeline and Stages.
Preview#
Opening a candidate's full profile in Sourcer Search. Costs 1 credit per candidate.
Recall#
The third-party provider powering the video-call recording bot. When Elly captures a Zoom / Google Meet / Teams call, a Recall bot joins the call.
Scorecard#
An evaluation of a candidate against a set of criteria. Can be generated automatically (by AI, from an interview transcript) or entered manually.
Scorecard template#
A reusable set of evaluation criteria attached to a pipeline stage. Shapes how meeting summaries are structured and how AI interviews are scored. See Scorecard Templates.
Sequence#
The ordered list of email steps in a campaign. Sequences are versioned — edits create a new version without affecting already-enrolled candidates.
Sourcer#
Elly's candidate sourcing subsystem. Searches an external candidate database, supports preview and enrichment, and feeds candidates into campaigns. See Sourcing.
Stage#
A single column in a job's pipeline, with a type (Leads, Application Review, AI Interview, Human Interview) that determines what automation runs when a candidate enters.
Template#
A reusable artifact. Elly supports several kinds: email templates (for campaigns and one-off sends), scorecard templates (for evaluations), and job-level templates (for defaults).
Twilio#
The third-party provider powering outbound phone calls from Elly.
Vapi#
The third-party provider powering the AI Interviewer's real-time voice conversations.
Withheld summary#
A meeting summary status that appears when your workspace runs out of credits during processing. The recording and transcript are preserved; the summary can be regenerated once credits are available.
