Understand how Elly charges for usage, compare plans, and manage your subscription.

How credits work#

Elly uses a credits system for usage-based features. Every workspace gets a monthly credit allowance based on its plan, and credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over.

What credits are used for#

Most day-to-day actions — creating a job, moving candidates through the pipeline, sending manual emails — do not cost credits.

What happens when you run out#

If you try to use a credit-based feature without enough credits, Elly will block the action and prompt you to upgrade or wait for your next monthly reset. For meeting summaries specifically, the recording and transcript are still stored — you can regenerate the summary later once credits are available.

For Starter and Growth, you pick a credit tier within the range when you subscribe. You can change tier any time.

Viewing and changing your plan#

Go to Settings → Billing.

Go to Billing settings.

From here you can:

  • See your current plan and monthly credit balance
  • Change plan — preview the new cost and credit allowance before confirming
  • Adjust billing frequency — monthly or annual (quarterly is available on Enterprise)
  • Open the Stripe billing portal — to update your payment method, download invoices, or cancel

Plan changes take effect immediately. If you upgrade mid-cycle, Stripe prorates the difference on your next invoice. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Only Owners can change the plan or payment method. Admins and Members can see the billing page but cannot modify it.

Managing payment#

Elly uses Stripe for all billing. Click Manage billing (or Billing portal) from the Billing page to open Stripe's hosted portal, where you can:

  • Update your credit card
  • Download past invoices
  • Change the billing email
  • Cancel your subscription

When credits reset#

Credits reset at the start of each monthly billing cycle, on the same day of the month you subscribed. If you're on the Free plan, credits reset on the same day of the month you signed up. Owners receive a notification when credits are running low or have been exhausted.
